The Department was established in the year 1985 & offers Diploma in mechanical engineering with the intake capacity 60 students.The department mechanical engineering plays an important role in areas such as energy, material, transportation, robotics, manufacturing, bio-mechanics and health-care, many of which are of national priorities. The Department has well qualified & experienced faculty members & they have useful contribution for the overall development of student coming from the rural society. An interactive relationship is maintained between the students & Staff which enables the students to develop a sound foundation.
The syllabus in mechanical engineering is designed so as to cater the needs of manufacturing industries, the power sector etc. With the growth of technologies the new subjects of studies are also introduced such as CAD/CAM & Automation. Our Laboratories have been very well established to cover complete syllabus as well as our departmental staff seek to enhance both theoretical and practical knowledge of the student with the help of well-equipped laboratories and workshop facilities. The Department organizes Seminars, workshops, trainings, personality development and entrepreneurship development on wide-ranging topics every year. We have a very good Industry-Institute interaction and we organize Industrial Visits for students periodically to provide an opportunity for the students to interact with working professionals from industry.
