Learning is a process largely in the realm of students.They should develop the necessary  skillslike, time management,cooperative learning, communication, creative thinking etc. to become better and effective learners. This help the students to perform better and become more useful citizens and recpectable professional. IEI (India) Chapter  help  students toprepared to develop these qualities  in them, college had started Students’ Chapter.

The Institution of Engineers of India(IEI) is the national organization of engineers in India. IEI was established in 1920 in Madras with Sir Thomas R.J Ward as the founding President. It was formally  inaugurated in 1921 by Lord Chelmsford, then Vicesoy of British India and granted Royal Charter in 1935

from King Gorge to promote and advance the science, practice & business of engineering. .

It is the largest multidisciplinary professional body 0f engineers in India.It has a network of 31 states and 123 local centers.It has six overseas,namely,Abu Dhabi,Bahrain,Kuwait,Qatar,Dubai & Nepal chapter. Since 1928, The AMIE examination have been deemed by the Association of India Univercities & the Union Public  Service Commision to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree in engineering. Head Quarter of IEI is at Calcutta(W.B).Over 1550 Students’Chapter function at various engineering collages/polytechics.Chapters conduct a variety of technical activitis,such as seminars,industrial visits,group discussions, technical quiz competitions,workshops, model/poster competitions throughout the year.

Membership categories in IEI are,Fellow(FIE),Member(MIE),Associate Member(AMIE),Member Technologist(MTIE),Associate Member Technologist(AMTIE), CharteredEngineers, CEng(India), International professionalEngineers, IntPEng(India)

Initialy IEI Students’ Chapter had started at Government Polytechnic, Gadchiroli in 2004. Total 291 students are the members in 2018-19. Our Principal Dr. N. P. Sonaje is the fellow of Institute of Engineers India (IEI).

Under IEI Student Chapter different departments of Government Polytechnic, Gadchiroli had carried out verious technical events successfully such as health checkup workshop for teaching faculty, staff and non-teaching staff, Engineers Day celebration, Teacher Day celebration, Poster Compitition, Quiz Competition, Expert Lectures, Blood Donation Camp, etc.

• Opportunity to meet fellow engineers for professional interaction.

Reimbursement of travelling expences to students selected for presentation of technical papers in Technicians’/Students’ Convention
